Here is my entry that was posted today……

Four days ago my wife gave birth to our first child.  The last few days have consisted of diapers, diapers and more diapers.  The first few diapers weren’t that bad.  As Benaiah began to eat more the diapers got pretty nasty.

I began to think about the diapers and began to wonder what if I cleaned only the outside of the diaper and left the nastiness on the inside.  This method of diaper cleaning would be a lot easier for me.

Obviously this would not work.

The sad thing though is that sometimes when it comes to change in our lives we only focus on the outside and neglect the nastiness on the inside. The truth is that not only will the nastiness not get better, but it will get worse as time goes by.

Learning humbly means seeing true change in our lives.  True change comes when we take the time to look at our hearts and begin to make changes there.  True change happens when we adjust our motive as well as our motion.  All the money, toys, power and success in the world is meaningless if our hearts and attitudes are nasty like my son’s dirty diapers.

When was the last time you took some time to reflect and process some of the stuff that Jesus wants to address in your life?
